EN - The Barnier government lasted only three months, the shortest of the Fifth Republic: it ended with a motion of no confidence voted by 331 deputies out of 574, 289 were enough. It hadn't happened since 1962. Now he will have to submit his resignation and those of his ministers to President Macron.

Barnier took responsibility for having the Social Security budget weakened by the National Assembly by left-wing deputies and Rassemblement National, who had examined two motions of censure, presented on Monday, adopted without a vote - that is, through Article 49.3 of the Constitution.

Returning from a state visit to Saudi Arabia, Macron would like to speed up the appointment of the new prime minister so as not to appear without a government in front of Trump who flies to Paris for the reopening of Notre-Dame.

For this reason, the president has reportedly started consultations already in Riyadh. Two candidates whose names are rumored: one is the current Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu, the other is the centrist politician Francois Bayrou. Two figures not disliked by Marine Le Pen, but once again not very convincing for the French left.
