EU/ENG - The plenary session at the European Parliament in Strasbourg will be held from 7 to 10 July. The presentation of the Danish presidency semester, the next European budget, the negotiations between Brussels and Washington on the subject of duties and the climate targets announced by the Commission: these are some of the issues at the centre of the sessions of the hemicycle.
The motion of no confidence against President Von der Leyen, promoted by the Romanian of Ecr, Gheorghe Piperea and presented by 77 MEPs, of which 27 are members of Ecr, all 26 MEPs of Esn, 6 from the Patriots group and 18 non-attached, seems destined not to be accepted. The populars, the socialists, the liberals, the Greens are against it, while the exponents of the left will decide on Monday. The document will be discussed on Monday 7 July and voted on Thursday 10 and the outcome of the final vote seems obvious: the initiative will almost certainly fail, failing to reach the quorum required by the regulation, i.e. two-thirds of the consensus.
In Strasbourg, among other things, the rule of law in Hungary will also be discussed. The Socialists have insisted on including a specific debate that takes its cue from the Budapest Pride based on the "urgent need for an anti-discrimination law at EU level and the defense of fundamental rights".
The agenda of the July plenary session includes a debate on the protection of journalists and freedom of the press. On the foreign front, an important discussion is expected in preparation for the long-awaited EU-China summit, on the human costs of the war in Ukraine on which a resolution will be voted, and on the progress of some countries' path towards joining the European Union. On the economic front, in addition to work on US tariffs and the next Union budget, debates are also scheduled on Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone and the Common Agricultural Policy.
The next plenary session is scheduled for 8-11 September, again in Strasbourg.
ITA - I lavori della plenaria al Parlamento europeo di Strasburgo si terranno dal 7 al 10 luglio. La presentazione del semestre di presidenza danese, il prossimo bilancio europeo, la trattativa tra Bruxelles e Washington sul tema dei dazi e i target climatici annunciati dalla Commissione: sono alcuni dei temi al centro delle sedute dell'emiciclo.
Pare destinata a non essere accolta la mozione di sfiducia alla presidente Von der Leyen, promossa dal rumeno di Ecr, Gheorghe Piperea e presentata da 77 eurodeputati dei quali 27 esponenti di Ecr, tutti e 26 eurodeputati di Esn, 6 del gruppo dei Patrioti e 18 non iscritti. Contrari i popolari, i socialisti, i liberali, i Verdi, mentre gli esponenti della sinistra decideranno lunedì. ll documento sarà discusso lunedì 7 luglio e votato giovedì 10 e l'esito dello scrutinio finale appare scontato: l'iniziativa, quasi certamente fallirà, mancando il raggiungimento del quorum richiesto dal regolamento ovvero dei due terzi dei consensi.
A Strasburgo, tra l'altro, si discuterà anche dello stato di diritto in Ungheria. I socialisti hanno insistito per far inserire un dibattito specifico che prende spunto dal Budapest Pride fondato sull' "urgente necessità di una legge antidiscriminazione a livello Ue e di difesa dei diritti fondamentali".
Nell'ordine dei lavori della plenaria di luglio previsto e un dibattito sulla protezione dei giornalisti e della libertà di stampa. Sul fronte esteri previsto un importante confronto in preparazione dell'atteso summit Ue-Cina, sui costi umani della guerra in Ucraina su cui si voterà una risoluzione, sui progressi di del percorso di alcuni Paesi verso l'adesione all'Unione europea. Sul fronte economico, oltre ai lavori sui dazi Usa (sui quali incombe il termine del 9 luglio, imposto dalla Casa bianca) e il prossimo bilancio dell'Ue, sono in programma dibattiti sull'ingresso della Bulgaria nell'eurozona e la Politica agricola comune.
La prossima plenaria è prevista dall'8 all'11 settembre, sempre a Strasburgo.
