EU/ENG - One year after its foundational debut in Athens, the transnational PM AGORA community reconvened from October 1 to 3, 2025, in Larnaka, Cyprus, hosting its high-level proceedings at the Eptagon BusinessHub & Wellness Centre (pictured below, a hands-on session capturing the operational spirit of the event). The symposium definitively consolidated the network’s evolution from a conventional peer-to-peer knowledge exchange platform into a rigorous methodological incubator and professional association, specifically designed to drive standardization, capacity building, and institutional safeguard for a traditionally fragmented sector.
Under the institutional patronage of the Commissioner for Gender Equality of the Republic of Cyprus, Ms. Josie Christodoulou, the forum was inaugurated by its three co-founders: Christina Achilleos, Alessandro Carbone, and Andreas Stefanidis. Moving beyond the mere technicalities of calls for proposals and grant compliance, the plenary sessions focused on the strategic necessity of embedding transparency, peer-to-peer dialogue, and horizontal cooperation into the very fabric of European project design.
AI Integration and Human Capital: Calibrating the Workflow
The opening day centered on technological disruption and human resource optimization within complex consortia. Industry expert Igor Razbornik led a critical workshop on AI-Powered Grant Writing. Rather than framing artificial intelligence as a mere shortcut for clerical text generation, the panel advocated for an intentional, sophisticated integration of AI tools, positioning them as facilitators for rapid prototyping, logic-model structuring, and early-stage feedback mechanisms. In parallel, Marianella Parra addressed the crucial vector of consortium wellbeing, introducing data-driven positive psychology metrics and lean time-management frameworks tailored to mitigate deadline-induced stress and systemic burnout among project managers.
The afternoon thematic labs shifted the focus toward technical and policy-driven operational capacities through four breakout sessions: Harry Konstantopoulos unpacked the PM² Methodology Application, delivering hands-on strategies to leverage the European Commission’s official framework against everyday implementation risks; Konstantinos Georgiou explored The Future of Work, presenting labor-market projections to 2030 and underscoring that nearly 60% of the workforce will require systematic upskilling or reskilling; finally, Astrid Hannes (ERRIN) delivered a powerful case study on Policy Monitoring, demonstrating that real-time policy scanning is a core strategic necessity to secure the long-term sustainability of EU-funded interventions.
Scalable Impact and the Infrastructure of Advocacy
The second day focused on long-term scalability and institutional influence. Sylvia Liuti (FormAzione) provided operational models for robust stakeholder engagement and the systematic mainstreaming of gender perspectives across all phases of the project lifecycle, while offering conflict-navigation frameworks for multinational partnerships. Subsequently, Kelly Diapouli (Artistic Director of Larnaka 2030) addressed one of the most critical structural challenges of the industry: the post-grant viability of projects. Drawing from the Larnaka 2030 regional ecosystem, she demonstrated how cultural anchors and local assets can effectively transform temporary EU funding into self-sustaining, long-term territorial legacies.
The most politically significant milestone of the forum occurred during the Building Influence session, introduced by Leonardo Lorusso. The debate centered on an ambitious paradigm shift: transitioning the European Project Manager from a passive implementer of institutional guidelines into a proactive agenda-setter capable of shaping future EU funding frameworks in Brussels.
The subsequent interactive working groups, co-facilitated by Lorusso and Andreas Stefanidis, conducted a pragmatic feasibility analysis on governance models required to establish a formal representative body for European project designers, fostering an open, high-level brainstorming session between public and private stakeholders.
Toward a Unified Governance Model: Verona 2026
The final evaluation and plenary synthesis, curated by Aimilia Markouizou-Gkika and Helena Papadopoulou, yielded a unanimous commitment from delegates to transition PM AGORA from an annual event into a permanent, structured movement. The medium-term mandate is now clear: establishing a recognized, professional representative entity equipped to interface directly with European institutions and co-shape the future of cohesion, innovation, and social policies.
The roadmap for this expanding network is already underway. The organizers officially announced that the operational working groups and the third edition of the pan-European forum will move to Italy, taking place in Verona in the autumn of 2026.

EU/ITA - A un anno dal debutto ad Atene, la community transnazionale di PM AGORA si è riunita dal 1° al 3 ottobre 2025 a Larnaca nell'isola di Cipro , presso l'Eptagon BusinessHub & Wellness Centre. L'evento (nella foto di copertina e in alto, alcuni momenti della tre giorni di Larnaca) ha confermato la transizione del network di project manager europei da semplice forum di aggiornamento a vero e proprio laboratorio metodologico e associativo, focalizzato sulla professionalizzazione e sulla tutela di una categoria tradizionalmente frammentata.
L'incontro, patrocinato istituzionalmente dal Commissario per l'Uguaglianza di Genere della Repubblica di Cipro, Josie Christodoulou, è stato inaugurato dai tre co-fondatori: Christina Achilleos, Alessandro Carbone e Andreas Stefanidis. Al centro del dibattito non vi erano unicamente i tecnicismi dei bandi, ma la necessità di strutturare una community basata su trasparenza, dialogo e cooperazione strategica.
IA e il fattore umano: ripensare i flussi di lavoro
La prima giornata ha affrontato l'impatto delle nuove tecnologie e la gestione delle risorse umane. L'esperto Igor Razbornik ha guidato una sessione critica sull'AI Grant Writing. Piuttosto che proporre l'intelligenza artificiale come una scorciatoia compilativa, il panel ha evidenziato l'importanza del prototyping e del pensiero strutturato, invitando a un uso intenzionale e colto della tecnologia.
Parallelamente, Marianella Parra ha posto l'accento sul wellbeing dei team, introducendo metriche di psicologia positiva e strumenti di lean time-management pensati specificamente per mitigare il burnout da scadenze.

Sylvia Liuti (FormAzione) ha offerto modelli operativi per l'integrazione del gender mainstreaming e la gestione dei conflitti d'aula e di partenariato. Successivamente, Kelly Diapouli (Direttrice Artistica di Larnaka 2030) ha risposto a un quesito critico del settore: la continuità dei progetti dopo la cessazione dei finanziamenti comunitari. Attraverso l'ecosistema locale, è stato mostrato come le leve culturali possano convertire i fondi temporanei in eredità territoriali stabili.
Il momento politicamente più significativo dell'evento è stato introdotto da Leonardo Lorusso con la sessione Building Influence. Il dibattito si è concentrato sulla transizione del Project Manager europeo da mero esecutore di linee guida a soggetto proattivo in grado di influenzare le agende di Bruxelles.
I tavoli di lavoro interattivi, coordinati dallo stesso Lorusso e da Andreas Stefanidis, hanno analizzato la fattibilità e i modelli di governance per la creazione di un organismo di rappresentanza istituzionale dei progettisti europei, stimolando un confronto pragmatico tra stakeholder pubblici e privati.
Verso una governance collettiva: Verona 2026
La sessione di valutazione finale, curata da Aimilia Markouizou-Gkika e Helena Papadopoulou, ha registrato una forte convergenza formale dei partecipanti nel trasformare PM AGORA da evento annuale a movimento permanente. L'obiettivo dichiarato a medio termine è l'istituzione del corpo professionale di rappresentanza per interloquire direttamente con le istituzioni europee.
Il percorso di consolidamento della community ha già fissato le sue tappe successive: gli organizzatori hanno annunciato che i tavoli operativi e la terza edizione del forum si sposteranno in Italia, a Verona, nell'autunno del 2026.
