Nulla di fatto sul calmieramento dei prezzi . La ricerca di coordinamento contro la variante Omicron. Il debutto di Scholz

IL'ultimo Consiglio europeo del 2021 è stato animato da posizioni distanti su alcuni temi in agenda. Sui prezzi dell'energia, i negoziati non hanno prodotto l'avvicinamento auspicato delle parti in campo. Alla mezzanotte di giovedi 16 dicembre la discussione ha prodotto un nulla di fatto. I leader dei 27 hanno deciso di rimandare tutto al prossimo Consiglio espungendo de facto il capitolo energia dalle conclusioni del summit. Il tema dell'energiia si conferma condizionato da enormi interessi economici.

A dividere i paesi il sistema per lo scambio di quote di emissione di CO2. Il sistema ETS, alla base del mercato delle emissioni, è inviso ai Paesi dell'est, Polonia in testa, di creare difficoltà improprie al sistema economico.

Anche il cancelliere tedesco Scholz, al suo debutto a un vertice europeo, ha ammesso le divergenze tra Germania e Francia considerando che il suo Paese ha già da tempo, preso la decisione che l'energia nucleare non prenderà parte alla transizione energetica e Berlino intende garantire che l'Ucraina continui aessere un Paese di transito del gas. Macron ha spiegato che l'energia nucleaere "non può essere considerata come equivalente alle rinnovabili, ma è un'energia a basso tenore" di emissioni di anidride carbonica, "

Francia e Spagna chiedono una revisione del mercato energetico per sganciare i prezzi dell'energia da quelli del gas. Restano però contrari  Paesi del Nord Europa. 

Il gas invece, secondo la posizione dell'Italia va considerato una fonte utilizzabile durante la transizione verde.

Al summit si è parlato anche di Covid - ribadendo i timori per la variante Omicron - e del coordinamento delle misure prese a livello nazionale.

La Francia non istituirà test anti-Covid per i viaggiatori provenienti da altri Paesi dell'Ue. Il premier italiano Draghi ha difeso la scelta di far fare i test a chi entra in Italia.
