Labour Party leader says his party will ‘deliver change’ as it is clear that the country needs a ‘bigger reset’.

 

 

 

 

 

IT - I laburisti hanno guadagnato 412 seggi nelle elezioni politiche del 4 luglio, ottenendo la maggioranza alla Camera dei Comuni. “Il cambiamento inizia immediatamente”, afferma il nuovo Primo Ministro britannico Keir Starmer. Il leader del partito laburista ha affermato che il suo partito “apporterà il cambiamento” poiché è chiaro che il paese ha bisogno di un “reset più grande”.

L'incarico a Starmer 

Il premier uscente Sunak intorno alle 12 è entrato a Buckingham Palace per rassegnare le sue dimissioni a Re Carlo III. Il sovrano successivamente ha incontrato Starmer per conferirgli l'incarico di primo ministro e di formare il nuovo governo.

"Ricostruiremo la Gran Bretagna mattone dopo mattone". E' una delle frasi più significative del discorso del neo primo ministro britannico, Keir Starmer, parlando a Downing Street dopo aver ricevuto l'incarico. 

 

Il primo discorso di Starmer

Il leader laburista ha detto che il suo Governo: "Sfiderà silenziosamente coloro che hanno cancellato il nostro Paese".

"Ci avete dato un mandato chiaro e lo useremo per realizzare il cambiamento - ha precisato - Per ripristinare il servizio pubblico e il rispetto per la politica. E uniamo il nostro Paese. Quattro nazioni di nuovo insieme ad affrontare, come abbiamo fatto tante volte nel nostro passato, le sfide di un mondo insicuro. Impegnati in una ricostruzione calma e paziente. Quindi, con rispetto e umiltà, invito tutti voi ad unirvi a questo governo di servizio, nella missione di rinnovamento nazionale", ha proseguito. "Il nostro lavoro è urgente e lo iniziamo oggi".

 

I seggi nella nuova Camera dei Comuni 

Il 4 luglio i Laburisti hanno conquistato 412 seggi su 650 totali. 121 seggi per i Conservatori.Al terzo posto con 61 eletti sono i Liberaldemocratici. Scarso il consesno. solo 13 eletti, per Reform Uk di Neil Farage. 

Il premier uscente, Rishi Sunak, ha annunciato la sua intenzione di dimettersi dalla carica di leader conservatore, ma rimarrà in carica finché non sarà deciso come sarà scelto il suo successore. 

 

Un trionfo storico

È una solida maggioranza assoluta quella dei laburisti, e un risultato che raggiunge quasi quello di Tony Blair che ottenne 419 seggi nel 1997. Ma all’epoca per i Conservatori andò meglio. Oggi si parla di una sconfitta che può essere rintracciata solo nelle elezioni del XIX secolo - qualcuno avanza una data: il 1832. Il minimo storico fu nel 1906 con 156 seggi. E’ una valanga che porta il cambiamento a Downing Street dopo 14 anni di governo dei Tories.
