Miersch is the new secretary of the SPD

Miersch is from the left wing of the SPD

EN - The new general secretary of the SPD is Matthias Miersch. He will have to manage Olaf Scholz's electoral campaign and was chosen with this mission by the party leaders of the Willy Brandt-Haus. A long-time parliamentarian, 55 years old, the new secretary is one of the three spokesmen of the social democratic left and known for his good relations with the various souls that make up German social democracy. Lawyer Miersch has been a member of the Bundestag for nineteen years and for sixteen he has been an authoritative leader of the national SPD despite being very present in his native Hanover. His predecessor Kevin Kühnert, twenty years younger, has a reputation for being more than a rising star, a brilliant politician. effective speaker, fine and composed polemicist and impressed by his step back for health reasons. In short, everything needs to be redone but Miersch's experience on economic and environmental issues can be an added value in the very complicated election year that is preparing and during which the SPD must climb back up the slope tarnished by the recessionary economic spiral that has gripped Germany since months and months.

IT - Il nuovo segretario generale della Spd è Matthias Miersch.
