La Bce lascia i tassi invariati dopo 10 rialzi consecutivi

I tassi restano fermi al 4,50% su operazioni di rifinanziamento principali, al 4,75% di rifinanziamento marginale e al 4% sui depositi presso Bce

La Banca centrale europea, interrompe la serie record di 10 rialzi consecutivi e decide, all’unanimità, di lasciare invariati i tassi di riferimento per la prima volta da luglio 2021. In particolare, i tassi di interesse sulle operazioni di rifinanziamento principali, sulle operazioni di rifinanziamento marginale e sui depositi presso la Bce rimarranno fermi rispettivamente al 4,50%, al 4,75% e al 4,00%.

L’inflazione resta però una preoccupazione per il direttivo dell’Eurotower. “Ci si attende tuttora che l’inflazione resti troppo elevata per un periodo di tempo troppo prolungato; inoltre perdurano le forti pressioni interne sui prezzi”, si legge nella nota diffusa al termine della riunione. “E la guerra in Medio Oriente, con le conseguenze che potrà avere sul costo dei beni energetici rappresenta un nuovo fattore di rischio”.

“Essere in pausa non significa che non saranno più alzati i tassi” ha detto la presidente dell’Eurotower, Christine Lagarde. “E una discussione su una futura riduzione del costo del denaro sarebbe totalmente prematura. Le prossime scelte della Bce continueranno a essere dipendenti dai dati, sebbene ci sia la convinzione che mantenere i tre tassi di riferimento all’attuale livello, per un sufficiente periodo di tempo, contribuirà al raggiungimento dell’obiettivo di un’inflazione al 2%”  ha aggiunto.
