Von der Leyen attended the 79th United Nations General Assembly

EN - European Commission President von der Leyen attended the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and side events, meeting with leaders from around the world. On Tuesday 24 September, he delivered the opening speech at the UN Renewable Energy Summit and also participated in the event "Innovation for a sustainable future: collaborating on industrial growth and decarbonisation" together with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Von der Leyen calls for a multilateral system of international relations and new progress towards clean energy.
