Le elezioni politiche in Spagna

Si sono tenute il 23 luglio

Le elezioni generali in Spagna del 2023 si sono tenute il 23 luglio per il rinnovo delle Corti Generali composte da 350 seggi del Congresso dei Deputati e da 208 seggi del Senato.

Le elezioni politiche sono state indette a cinque mesi dalla fine naturale della legislatura. Lo scioglimento anticipato è stato conseguenza degli scarsi risultati alle elezioni regionali e locali del 2023 delle formazioni politiche del secondo esecutivo (dal gennaio 2020) guidato da Pedro Sanchez con una coalizione di centro-sinistra, dimessosi a fine maggio. La concomitanza del semestre di presidenza spagnola del Consiglio dell'Unione europea ha ulteriormente sovraesposto sui media europei sia la premiership uscente, in carica per gli affari correnti, che i riflessi europei del voto iberico. 

Le elezioni hanno visto la vittoria del Partito Popolare guidato da Alberto Nuñez Feijoo. Il  blocco di centro-destra tuttavia non ha raggiunto in Spagna la maggioranza assoluta dei seggi, anche a causa della perdita del partito di estrema destra Vox, rimasto terzo partito per voti e seggi. 

D’altro canto, il Partito Socialista Operaio Spagnolo, pur essendo giunto secondo, ha comunque fatto segnare un percettibile aumento di consensi, a fronte di una flessione contraria del suo blocco di centro-sinistra, non avendo anche questo una maggioranza.
